Our Programs

We are based in Galway and have been providing tuition services for over ten years. Our classes are now solely online. We specialise in primary school maths and the transition into secondary school and we offer secondary school tuition up to Junior Certificate and Transition Year.

In first year of secondary school we offer an in-depth foundation in algebra which is essential for handling all other topics. We offer a comprehensive program which is designed to equip your student with the fundamental skills required for success in maths. More than just tuition, we aim to:

Primary Maths

Maths is a core subject from Junior Infants to Sixth Year in secondary. Primary maths skills will lay the foundation for more advanced maths throughout a child’s academic life. We are dedicated to developing confident students and giving them the skills to succeed.

Secondary Maths

Secondary level maths skills are of paramount importance for students and have far-reaching implications for their academic, personal and professional lives. We work 1 to 1 with students to maximize the personal attention that aligns with a student’s goals and interests. Individualized attention means faster progression and the chance to hone in on topics that are of particular difficulty to a student.

Our Approach to Learning

  • Whether your student is top of the class or struggling at maths, we can provide a framework to encourage confident and competent learners. Our students are at the heart of everything that we do. Our program is designed to identify exactly where the student needs help and with our carefully designed materials and expert tuition techniques the student will gradually progress from their initial starting point to master more complex concepts and techniques.
  • Weekly classes to explain and explore new concepts and daily homework to be completed before the next class. The core idea is: “little and often”. Working for a set amount of time each day on a topic brings mastery and fluency.
  • Pen and Paper working. Writing things down assists students’ understanding and helps memorize facts and techniques.
  • We aim to help students get information from the short term to the long term memory.
  • Gradual progression. Only when a student is competent at one topic will they progress to the next step. Our materials follow a predetermined progression pathway which gradually increases in difficulty.
  • Tweaking of the program as required based on the student’s understanding and specific needs. A truly individualized program.
  • We encourage self learning particularly in higher primary classes and into secondary school. Students realise that when a new topic is presented they can use their exisiting knowledgeto tackle it.
  • We insist on neat and tidy work to encourage the student to lay out a logical train of thought on paper.
  • Self Assessment. So important in all that we do, students eventually learn to be their own teachers. This is an enormous benefit as students move to the higher classes in primary school and into secondary.
  • We are two highly experienced, caring and mature tutors who are invested both in all our students and also in fostering a lifelong understanding and appreciation for mathematics as a subject.

How will you customize the tutoring sessions to my child's needs?

We believe in tailoring each tutoring session to meet the specific needs of your child. Through a personalized assessment, we will identify their strengths and weaknesses, and then design a targeted tutoring plan to address their individual learning requirements.

What subjects do you cover for primary students?

We offer tutoring services for a wide range of primary school maths subjects, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, geometry, measurement. We place a particular emphasis on word problems as this is where many students struggle and need plenty of practice in this area.

How often will tutoring sessions take place?

The frequency of tutoring sessions depends on your child’s needs and schedule. Typically, we work 1 to 1 with primary school students for 30 minutes and that will increase to 45 minutes for 2nd and 3rd year secondary students.
